ATY offers classes, workshops, Broadway in a Day, spring & winter break camps, and in-service
programming throughout the school year - with offerings for all ages and skill levels!
All classes take place at 4105 Turnagain Blvd in the Turnagain Arts Building in Spenard (unless indicated otherwise). Enter through the SOUTH ENTRANCE (the outside entrances are labeled) and ATY is immediately to the right and left.

Seussical Kids and Seussified Stories kick off ATY’s new Drama Center Production Classes, with performance opportunities for actors ages 4-12!
Seussical Kids is perfect for actors interested in acting, singing, and dancing.
Seussified Stories is perfect for actors interested in acting, writing, and storytelling.
Both shows will perform on December 11 & 12 in the Harper Studio at the UAA Fine Arts Building!
Improvised Theatre Classes!
Homeschool Improv
Build confidence, creativity, and quick-thinking skills through the fun of improv! Actors will learn to think on their feet, work as a team, and create characters and scenes on the spot through engaging games and exercises. No scripts, no pressure—just imagination, collaboration, and plenty of laughs!
Mondays September 14th - November 30th. Class will not meet on October 12 or November 23

Plot Twist! Improvised Theatre
Take your improv skills to the next level in a fast-paced class built for experienced performers. Sharpen your instincts, create stronger characters and scenes, and explore new ways to make bold choices onstage. Through challenging games, scene work, and ensemble exercises, you’ll push your creativity, trust your impulses, and become a more confident, connected improviser.

Improv Adventurers!
Ready to make it up as you go? Jump into a world of silly characters, wild stories, and unexpected adventures! Through fast-paced improv games and creative challenges, students will stretch their imaginations, think on their feet, and learn to work together—all while having tons of fun. There’s no script and no wrong answer—just say “Yes, and!” and see where the story takes you!

Acting & Writing Classes!
Scenes & Monologues
Bring your own stories to the stage! In this creative class, young actors will become both writers and performers as they develop original scenes and monologues. Through fun writing prompts, acting exercises, and collaboration, students will discover their unique voices, create memorable characters, and bring their ideas from the page to performance.

Rising Voices Musical Theatre Voice
Find your voice and bring your favorite musical theatre songs to life! This small-group class combines the personalized attention of a voice lesson with the energy and support of learning alongside fellow performers. Students will build healthy vocal technique, confidence, and musicality while working on songs chosen to strengthen their individual voices and storytelling skills. Please come to the first class with a song or two that you would like to work on!

Drama Center FAQ’s
What is Drama Center?
Drama Center encompasses all of ATY’s after school classes, in-service programming, spring and winter break programming, special classes and workshops, and more!
Where do Drama Center classes take place?
Most classes take place at our studio in the Turnagain Arts Building. 4105 Turnagain Blvd. Classes not taking place in the ATY studio will be noted directly in the class description and on the registration page.
I signed up for a 4-week session, will this class take place again next month?
Improv, Acting and Fairytale afterschool classes are recurring classes that happen every month in 4-6 week sessions. Specialty classes like puppetry, stage combat, dance, music theatre and others may only run for a limited number of weeks.
